Hyatt Centric Beale Street

I was born and raised in Nashville. My parents’ families are from Memphis. We are TN deep. As a kid, I used to spend many summer weekends in Memphis and it’s been great going back as an adult recently to experience a different side. Memphis has grown so much in the last year and it continues to add new, exciting attractions. There are still the great must-dos like the National Civil Rights Museum, but there are some new restaurants, lounges, bar and shopping options for locals and tourists. The latest edition is a beautiful hotel right on Beale Street. I had the pleasure of a hosted weekend stay at the Hyatt Centric which is the only hotel in Memphis with a Beale Street address.

The Hyatt Centric Beale Street is a short walk from the riverfront and just a few hops to the hustle & bustle of central Beale Street. When I look at hotels, location is very important. When staying at the Hyatt Centric, you’re also right across the street from the Orpheum Theatre. So if you’re looking to not have to travel far to explore, this is the hotel for you.

Now, location is key, but so is what is inside the hotel. Hyatt Centric has plenty to keep you busy without leaving the property. First, the lobby has a beautiful restaurant called, CIMAS. You can grab coffee and light bites at the sandwich stand or dine inside or on the patio. When it’s summer, I try to soak up the weather and so I dined outside. I can not rave enough about the quesadillas. Will I go back to the hotel just to get them…oh yeah! They’ve been on my mind since I left. 5 stars. I also had a great salad and tostada. If you like to people watch, you can also take your lunch outside by the pool.

Hyatt Centric Beale Street is one of the few hotels in the area with a resort style pool. You can rent a cabana for you and your group for the day. Now, the deal they have on the cabanas is one I don’t see often. You get a Yeti cooler filled with 12 drinks of your choice when you rent the cabana. Most hotels just give you the space and water. So this was an exciting revelation and made our Saturday pool day so much more fun. Relax or part my at the pool and then you have to end your day in the rooftop.

While I loved the pool, the rooftop bar, Beck & Call is the showstopper for Hyatt Centric. You get 360 aerial views outside. It’s massive and you just cannot beat the sunset views overlooking the river and the bridge. Beck & Call rooftop is huge which is great as it does get busy. There are two vibes. A more relaxed vibe earlier in the evening and then a more fun, upbeat dance and party vibe after 9PM. There is a DJ on the the rooftop that can be heard inside and out. Food is also available on the roof. Whether you’re just stopping by for drinks or staying, the rooftop is a must.

But what about the rooms? They’re sleek, modern, well-designed and bright. I was able to stay in one of their city view suites and loved it. It was very spacious from the bathroom to the living room. While you will live your room, you certainly will be somewhere else enjoying the amenities on property during your stay.
