I love Memphis! Both of my parents’ families are from there and I spent many summers there as a child. Memphis as an adult is better as you get to experience Beale Street. I had the pleasure of attending my first Beale Street Music Festival with Budlight TN a few weeks ago.
Beale Street Music Festival is the kick-off to Memphis in May, a month long celebration of food and music in the iconic city. BSMF is over Cinco de Mayo weekend which makes it even more of a party. Budlight is a major sponsor and they have their own stage and bar area. Any festival with Budlight y’all boys is a good time.
They will be at more festivals this summer live Riverbend in Chattanooga. Be sure to stop by, snap a pic and show them some love.
I arrived in Memphis Friday afternoon. There unfortunately was a bit of weather throughout the weekend, but that didn’t stop the party. We came prepared with ponchos, but some rain boots would have been nice too. The festival is held on the river bank which gives beautiful views from the show, but it also gets pretty muddy. Even with the rain, the shows went on and there was plenty to do around the festival.
The lineup this year was incredible with Cardi B, India Arie, Lil Dicky, Khalid, G-Eazy and One Republic. I def think they had one of the best this year. If you didn’t go this year, I recommend you look out for tickets in 2020. If you go, be sure to show my Budlight peeps some love. The Budlight stage had the top acts and they have a nice viewing area with a bar.
Sunday, we hit brunch at Frita’s to get some delicious authentic Mexican food. After, we went to Beale Street for some Cinco fun before we left. You can find Budlight up and down the street being sold right outside and inside of awesome bars. It was definitely a party to remember. I can’t wait to go back next year for BSMF and hope to attend more of the Memphis in May events.
Be sure to follow my friends Budlight TN on Facebook and Instagram.
love,
Leigh
