Charleston Travel Guide

I took my first trip to Charleston, SC in September 2020. I had heard good things and the weekend visit certainly lived up to my expectations. I took a road trip with my blogger bestie, Kay Elle. With COVID, it was my first real trip besides staycations in Nashville. It’s about an 8 hour drive from Nashville to Charleston. It goes by quickly when you have good company.

We arrived in Charleston on Friday afternoon. We were hosted at Hotel Indigo Mount Pleasant. It’s right over the bridge from downtown Charleston. It’s a short 10 minute drive which is nice. All Hotel Indigo properties have the indigo color and them touches of local flair. We received a nice tour upon arrival. In the front lobby, they have local options to purchase and guides for the city.

I love my room that overlooked the gorgeous pool area. The bathrooms were a nice size, king bed and a couch area if you have a friend over. I didn’t spend too much time in the room since we were only there for the weekend.

Loved the pool area

Saturday morning, we had brunch in the hotel. I had some yummy fried chicken and waffles. After brunch, we hung by the pool. We had a private cabana which was great. We pretty much had the pool to ourselves which was awesome.

Saturday afternoon, we did a tasting at Hire Wire Distilling Co. It’s on a street with a few others. If it’s warm you can walk around. Many have great outdoor spaces. And those that don’t have social distancing guidelines in place.

After our tasting, we went into the heart of downtown for lunch.

Come tour downtown Charleston with me

Downtown is so cute. I have to spend more time eating at all of the cool places we saw. After our evening in Charleston, we went back to the hotel for drinks and pizza. We safely hung by the pool with some other residents. It was a great night.

Sunday we left in the AM and drove back to Nashville. I can’t wait to visit again. I will be visiting Charleston for longer next time. I’ll also be sure to I stay at Hotel Indigo Mount Pleasant again. Thank you for hosting us for the weekend Hotel Indigo. Be sure to check them out. Service was a great and you’ll def enjoy the property and your stay.

love,

Leigh Love
