In girl world, on Wednesdays we wear pink. In grown woman world, on Wednesdays we drink wine. You can always have a wine night with just wine and your girls or you can make it an event. If you’re planning a Wine Wednesday, there are a few things you need.
First, you need wine (duh). It’s okay to sneak other cocktails in there if you or your guests want. When I’m hosting, I provide 1-2 bottles depending on the size of the party and ask each guest to bring their favorite. This allows people to try different flavors and brands. Also, I get to restock my wine rack at the end of the evening. For my next wine night, I picked up a bottle of Muddy Boot wine. Muddy Boot is a small Clarksburg, CA based winery founded by twin brothers David and Phil along with good friend Tom. The wine is now being sold in Nashville for the first time which is why I decided to try it out. I picked up the Rose flavor and love it!
Next, you need food. As the host, you can provide the warm options and have guests bring smaller items or do everything. A few easy dishes that are always hits are meatballs, chicken bites, cheese & crackers and pound cake. Lastly, to truly make this a Wine About It Wednesday, you need to provide topics to your guests. I usually ask for topics when I send out my email invite. You can do your email invite via regular email or use a service like evite.com. My past Wine About It Wednesdays topics have focused on women in the workplace, hair care, online dating and a clothing exchange. Be sure to pick a topic that will be fun, but also have a little bit of a lively debate.
I host my Wine About it Wednesdays from 6-8:00PM to give people time to come over after work. I usually try to get the topic going around 6:30PM to give us enough time to discuss. Wine About It Wednesday can be simple and laid back or more of a mid-week affair. No matter the tone, just be sure to have fun and pick up some good wine. Let me know what you usually do for your wine night. Leave your tips and tricks in the suggestions below. Happy Wednesday, enjoy your night.
love,
Leigh

Love this idea!
Hahaha…I laughed so hard at your opening line. Although I’m not much of a wine drinker, I still like trying out different wines in hopes of finding one that matches my palate.
I love the idea of a Wine Wednesday! Great tips for me to remember when I give it a try in the future!
Nice article. It made me change my plans next Wednesday hahaha. Excited to read more of your articles.

I love your idea about having a topic to discuss and telling your guests ahead of time. Sounds fun!
Wow this looks like such a fun time!
What?! I need to host one of these ASAP. And now I’m interested in trying Muddy Boot. I’m always down to find a new wine. Thanks for sharing!
Your shared your joyous moments of wining nights celebrating as happy Wednesdays. Immensely enjoyed.
Hahha! I love this idea! And who doesnt like a glass of wine and a chat on a Wednesday!
I actually really like this idea. I probably won’t have people over since I don’t see many people during the work week, but I may take this up with my husband or use it as a time to journal about my week and drink some wine lol. Thanks for this!
I LOVE this idea! What a great way to spend time with close friends, chill and enjoy a few drinks. I’ve never done anything like this but I love the idea of it!
This is so cute!! I definitely want to plan one now!

I love Rose wines. (I thought I was amongst the only ones). Great idea to pair it with girl world Wednesday. Makes wine o’clock for a good cause.
I love the concept of all this. Choosing a topic is also a great way to ‘break the ice’ so to speak.
This is an excellent idea! I would be totally all over this if I was still single. I loved after work social and networking back then.
Hey you can still do it now!
I love this idea, it would be amazing to spend time with close friends.
Always a good time
Haha this is such a great idea! I’ve never heard of the concept but definitely one to start 🙂
