Nashville Fashion Week Brunch

Nashville Fashion Week held its first event in 2011 and it’s going strong 7 years later. I went to my first NFW event on Saturday. They hosted a Blogger Brunch at the beautiful Thompson Hotel Nashville. This is one of my favorite venues in the city because of the beautiful rooftop, LA Jackson. It was the perfect backdrop for a group of 50 bloggers who love taking pictures. LA Jackson has amazing specialty drinks and great food. It is more on the pricey side, but the atmosphere and service makes it worth it.

The “brunch” only had biscuits which really disappointed me because I came hungry.  I’m actually always hungry and have no shame in that fact. They were hearty and delicious biscuits, but I really need meat with my brunch. The event also included a photobooth from Smile Bar and a braid bar. I won a beautiful bouquet of flowers from Oshi Foral Design Nashville. I’m fighting to keep them alive as they are truly gorgeous. OSHI does great work and I highly recommend them for events.

Nashville Fashion Week 2018 is being held April 3-7, 2018. I have to admit, I wouldn’t call myself a fashionista. I like to look nice and dress nice, but shopping isn’t a hobby of mine and fashion doesn’t give me the same thrill as music. I still however would love to attend New York Fashion Week one year. While I myself am not deeply ingrained into the fashion world, I do appreciate the artform of true style and expression through clothes, shoes and jewelry. I do support the mission of Fashion Week trying to support entrepreneurs and local businesses.

Proceeds for all of the events during the week go to the Nashville Fashion Forward Fund of The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. The Fashion Fund is an endowed fund dedicated to supporting the next generation of fashion industry professionals in Middle Tennessee by providing an annual financial award and resources for experiential professional development opportunities. We all have a dream and we all have to start somewhere. IMG_0329
