My Big 3-OH en Cabo

I think I still might be recovering from this trip because it was just too much fun. My 30th birthday was last week and I decided to spend it in Mexico with a few close friends. If you haven’t already, please check out my 30 by 30 To Do List. I went to Los Cabos with my sister and 8 friends for 4 days. Unfortunately, there aren’t many affordable direct flights from Nashville to Cabo so we had a layover in Houston.  We fly Southwest which is my favorite airline (they treat you right usually, but especially on your birthday.).

Our journey began at 5:30AM Thursday morning. There were 3 of us traveling from Nashville and we met my friend that was coming in from Memphis there too. The Houston airport is relatively small, but nice so we had breakfast at Buffalo Wild Wings (which was surprisingly good) and of course a few birthday drinks. Those drinks continued on the flight. I will say the Cabo flight might have been more LIT than the last few Vegas flights I have been on.

As soon as checked in Thursday, we went right down to one of the pools to meet the early arrivals. We were staying at Sandos Finisterra Los Cabos. My sister and I were upgraded to a 2 bedroom/2bath suite with a wonderful pool and ocean view. I was greeted by the cutest birthday cake and we were also provided champagne. The all inclusive resort is nestled into the mountains. When we walked out our front view, we could climb the mountain if we wanted to.

I had heard that Cabo was beautiful and it lived up to my best expectations. Waters were blue and beautiful and so were the mountains and beaches. I’ve said this before and will say it every time I get back from an international trip….ALL INCLUSIVE IS THE ONLY WAY TO TRAVEL INTERNATIONALLY. Sandos is named a top 10 resort in Los Cabos by several travel magazines. It’s a little bit more expensive, but you notice the difference.

Thursday and Friday we mostly stayed at the resort. Sandos has great restaurants, a great club (I was really surprised) and really fun pool entertainment. Sometimes, resort entertainment can be cheesy, but I truly enjoyed all of the shows and acts we saw throughout the weekend. Sandos advertises as having the best views and they certainly do. You can’t beat the mountain and ocean views they have.

Saturday, we had a private boat tour with La Isla Day Tours. These boats are premium and good for groups of 10-15. We had plenty of room, the staff was fun and kept the drinks flowing for us. They took us all around for a few hours and then dropped us off in the heart of the beach bars so we could explore a bit more.

Los Cabos was the perfect way to spend my 30th birthday. Shout-out to my sister Catherine that coordinated and planned my entire trip down to the outfits we wore each day.  If you haven’t noticed, there was a color theme each day…the colors of Wakanda. #leighlovescabo #leighloving30 #3OHenCabo Another big shout-out to the girls that traveled across and land and sea to party with me….Tray, Marcie, Lynn, Jessica, Regina, Justina, Peggy & Espe. Perfect group for the perfect birthday vaca.

I plan to go back to Cabo. It just  wasn’t long enough and I would like to go out to the beach bars and more into the city. Have you been to Cabo? What was your favorite part of the trip?

love,

Leigh
