My First Clean Juice Cleanse

I never thought I could give up food for 3 days, but I did…and liked it. I did my first juice cleanse with Clean Juice Five Points. Clean Juice is a chain and the Nashville Five Points location opened a few weeks ago. At Clean Juice, they believe in a HEALTHY BODY  &  STRONG SPIRIT.

You see that motto come through in many ways throughout your cleanse. I’m giving you all the deets and advice for those that want to try their first cleanse.

I started my cleanse on Friday. The Friday of Super Bowl weekend. I know, brilliant right. I was nervous about having to go to the bathroom at work, but it wasn’t that bad. I had received advice to eat relatively light and clean the day before. I think that in conjunction with lots of water helped. I highly suggest this for anyone thinking about doing one for their first time. Start changing your diet the day before.

You get 6 juices a day in the lovely cases shown below. Each juice is numbered in the case. The cases come with instructions on the side as well as motivation. I love the attention to detail Clean Juice gives. Each juice has ingredients on the side along with positive effects each juice may give (increased energy, calmness, improved mood). There is also a biblical scripture. Remember it’s not just about your body, but spirit too.

I love the biblical scriptures as they encourage you to focus on your total person. The juices are for your body. You need your mind to keep you focused and strong to complete the cleanse. Your spirit needs some love too. The cleanse is a great time to reflect, meditate and think about yourself and your life. Essentially, how you want to live and be better. I found great clarity through my cleanse.

I had a lot of questions about the juices? Overall, they’re good. Out of 6, I really enjoyed 3 of them. I prefer sweeter tasting juices and foods. The ones later in the day get sweeter. My favorite is #6. It has an organic milk base and helps you get calm before going to sleep. I’ve never been into the glass before milk thing, but I now see the appeal.

I think the green ones which are more plant than fruit based are the toughest to get through. I don’t eat many organic foods, so I wasn’t used to the taste. They did boost my energy though. With the extra energy, I encourage you to start exercising if you aren’t already.

I was able to get back into my workout routine with my boost. It was what I needed to start 2019 on a healthy foot. Clean Juice is great because they give you tips in the beginning like black coffee if you’re already a coffee drinker. They also say cashew nuts if you think you’re not going to make it.

One important thing is water between each juice. Another tip I got from Clean Juice is to fill the bottle with water after you complete a juice. Stay hydrated!

By the end of Day 3, I felt wonderful. Honestly, the best I had felt in weeks. I lost a total of 5 pounds. I also was sleeping better. I certainly got hungry a few times, but once again it goes back to mind over matter. You can do it. Keep your mind on the prize.

Clean Juice Five Points has made to order options. These are great if you want to try 1 thing like a juice, smoothie or açaí bowl before diving into a full cleanse. The cleanse is 3 or 5 days. 5 is probably good for someone who has done it a few times.

I had supper which helped, but it would have been nice to have someone really along the journey. I plan to do another one before my birthday in June. I think a cleanse a few times a year will be my new routine.
