“I love food!” I hope you read in your best Oprah voice. Good food AND a good dining experience are two things that shouldn’t be taken for granted. Nashville has many hidden gems when it comes to yummy food, good staff and a nice atmosphere. Throughout 2019, I will be sharing my favorite Nashville restaurants. From fast casual to fine dining.
This list will be updated regularly as I try new places. I’m talking about the food, service and atmosphere. For me, good food means nothing without good service. Same for atmosphere. Cleanliness is next to godliness and I don’t want to be distracted by bad decor or a dirty space when dining. Check out the list and let me know which ones you love.
Taziki’s Mediterranean Cafe Nashville
Taziki’s is a fast casual restaurant chain in Tennessee and a few other Southern states. This Mediterranean Cafe serves healthy and delicious options. My go to is the kebob feast which you can get as chicken or beef kabobs. The feast comes with salad and rice. I always get a side of roasted potatoes.
I recommend the hummus with warm pita bread as an appetizer. Each day there is fresh brewed sweet tea. It’s some of the best sweet tea I’ve had. Taziki’s Nashville offers takeout and catering. Be sure to visit the Gulch location. I always go there because the staff is so nice and helpful. They ensure you have a great experience no matter what.
Liberty Common just opened across from Ascend Amphitheater in downtown Nashville. It’s from the creators of Butchertown Hall. I still think Butchertown has THE best burger in Nashville. Try to convince me otherwise! Liberty Common has a beautiful atmosphere. It’s light and airy.
I went there for brunch a few weeks ago. They have chicken and waffles and other Southern dishes like cheese grits. They have fresh bakery items made daily by their pastry chef. I mostly recommend Liberty Common for their specialty drinks. They have great mixologists making custom cocktails throughout the day. I will be stopping by before a few summer shows at Ascend.
Seafood Sensations Antioch is the 2nd location of this Nashville chain. The Antioch location opened in late 2018. From fried to grill seafood options, you can’t go wrong. Everything is seasoned to perfection from the meats to the veggies. I recommend the fried platter. I always prefer fried fish over grilled, but that’s the Southerner in me. The catfish sandwich is amazing!
Stop in and enjoy some yummy food today.
Sedona Taphouse isn’t unique to Nashville, but has certainly added some simple goodness to Germantown. Sedona opened in Nashville a little over year ago. It’s nestled by Christie Cookies.
They have a great patio. Perfect in the summer with the outdoor bar and fall as they have a fire pit. Service has always been good. This is honestly Top 2/3 for me. I’ve been for drinks, brunch, lunch and dinner. Oh and I forgot takeout. Each time has been excellent.
My favorite items on the menu are the crab cakes and the steak. Some of the best if not the best steak in Nash. Cocktails and drinks are good too. They have a really nice food and happy hour during the week. I suggest you try them.
