Gaylord Opryland Staycation

Labor Day weekend, I visited my first hotel in 2020. I decided to partner with Gaylord Opryland Resort for a Labor Day weekend statycation. I was anxious to end the summer on a high note since I’ve been in Nashville all year and pretty much in my house. As we all know summer hasn’t been the same this year, but I was determined to enjoy my weekend safely. I normally travel once a month and I had been missing the hotel experience.

From checkin to the elevators and rooms, Gaylord Opryland has great safety protocols in place. Everyone is required to wear masks and there are social distance signs throughout the public areas. This def put my mind at ease as I’m still social distancing as best I can. It’s good to know you can get out safely when you follow guidelines. I grew up in Nashville and Gaylord Opryland never disappoints.

I arrived Monday morning and toured the property. I’ve been to Gaylord Opryland Resort many times over the years, but I was curious to see the current theme and new upgrades. After settling in, I went to Soundwaves, their upscale water attraction. This is their new state of the art indoor and outdoor water park. Inside they have a few bars, surfing and a lazy river. Outside, they have slides, a wave pool and private cabanas.

We had a cabana which was great to stay away from other groups. The cabana comes with sodas, waters, a TV and fan. They have a great cocktail menu and some great pool bites. We got a few apps to dine on including loaded nachos. The frozen drinks were def a highlight and our server was so fun.

After Soundwaves, I had to my room on the Cascade side of the hotel. I had a King with balcony which over looks the water area. While inside and shielded from tropical area and whatever weather is happening, you feel outside. Highly recommend this option.

Whether you’re a family, couple or a few friends, Soundwaves is a great option. Gaylord Opryland Hotel has a current special for tan residents to visit Soundwaves for the day. For those coming from out of town, they have family packages as well. I love the hotel as there is so much to do inside and it’s still close to other attractions around Nashville. Def a great option for a staycation or full blown vaca. Thanks to the wonderful staff at Gaylord Opryland for hosting me, I had a wonderful stay. I can’t wait to visit again. Book your next stay here.
